The Lampasas Appraisal District has completed the 2025 Tax Levy; Tax Bills were mailed out November 12, 2025.
Tax Statements are available online; credit card or debit card payments can be made online.

 

The Lampasas appraisal district mailed out approximately 15,000, to taxpayers, an additional 6,000 to tax agents & mortgage companies.

The Lampasas appraisal district sent bills after the election to ensure that everyone that was entitled to the additional homestead exemption amounts of $140,000 and the additional over 65 exemption amounts of $60,000 was included.

There was a total of 6,615 homestead tax bills that did receive the $140,000 homestead exemption according to newly elected Proposition 13 and included were 2,771 taxpayers that also received an additional amount $60,000 according to newly elected Proposition 11 for over 65 exemptions.

At this time, the appraisal district did not receive any applications related newly elected Proposition 7.  “This proposed constitutional amendment shall be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the proposition: “The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for an exemption from ad valorem taxation of all or part of the market value of the residence homestead of the surviving spouse of a veteran who died as a result of a condition or disease that is presumed under federal law to have been service-connected.”

The Lampasas Appraisal district made a huge effort to make sure that every taxpayer that was qualified to receive the said exemptions was processed before sending out the 2025 Tax Statements.

Homestead Exemption Audit- Senate Bill (SB) 1801

During the 88th regular session, the Texas legislature passed Senate Bill (SB) 1801, effective September 1, 2023, which requires the Lampasas Central Appraisal District develop a program for periodic review of each residence homestead granted under Texas Property Tax Code Section 11.13. The bill requires the Chief Appraiser verify each residence homestead at least every 5-years to confirm the recipient of the exemptions still qualify. There is no need to re-apply for your homestead exemption unless requested to do so, by mail, from the Appraisal District.

There is no charge or fee associated with receiving or filing an exemption application with the Lampasas Central Appraisal District.

Welcome to the Lampasas Central Appraisal District

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district. Lampasas Central Appraisal District is responsible for local property tax appraisal and exemption administration for 10 jurisdictions (taxing units) within Lampasas County, Texas. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).

Each taxing unit, such as the county, a city, school district, municipal utility district, etc., sets its own tax rate to generate revenue to pay for such things as police and fire protection, public schools, road and street maintenance, courts, water and sewer systems, and other public services. Appraisals established by Lampasas CAD allocate the year’s tax burden on the basis of each taxable property’s January 1st market value.

The Appraisal District’s primary responsibility is to develop an annual appraisal roll for use by taxing units in imposing ad valorem taxes on property in the district. Lampasas CAD is governed by the Board of Directors, who is primarily responsible for the hiring of the Chief Appraiser as well as approving the annual budget.
